Characteristics of Burma Border Teak Wood
- Soft fiber structure with natural grains and is of good density. The cut log contains moisture of around 45-50%
- It has good oil content and moist timber wood.
- The typical mean circumference is between 600mm to 3000mm and diameter of up to 900mm.
- The usual length is between 900 – 6100mm which depends on the age and growth rate of the timber.
- Sawing yield is only approx. 80% whilst milling. remaining 20% is used for making plain wooden beadings.
- Normally free from typical defects but carries visible defects as that of Teak.
Application of Burma Border Teak Wood
- Mainly used for wooden doors, windows & shutters, door & window frames.
- Largely used for wooden flooring, decking and wooden interiors.
- Also used for furniture making and decorative veneer.
